(Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Kazunobu Ukikawa), in collaboration with Obayashi Corporation (“Obayashi”) and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (“NIOSH”) of the Japan Industrial Safety and Health Organization (“JISHO”), has developed a “Safety AI Solution” and today began accepting applications from companies for advanced trial use. The official launch of the service is scheduled for December 1, 2012. The official launch of the service is scheduled for 2023.
In recent years, construction sites have been required to further improve occupational safety and health management due to an increase in the number of occupational accidents involving elderly workers and foreign workers, as well as a lack of safety skills to be passed on to younger supervisors.
To address these issues, MetaMoJi has developed an AI model for safety risk assessment based on accumulated safety management data, using the IMTOC* representation of occupational accidents proposed by Shigeo Umezaki of the National Institute of Industrial Safety and Health, and has been developed through on-site evaluations at Obayashi Corporation. The model was developed by MetaMoJi using the IMTOC* representation of occupational accidents proposed by Shigeo Umezaki.
The safety AI solution uses a “Dynamic Checklist®” to dynamically extract safety management information that is highly relevant to workers and site conditions on forms such as health and safety daily reports and work plans created in MetaMoJi’s business applications, eYACHO, a digital field notebook, and GEMBA Note. The system creates a “Dynamic Checklist®” that dynamically extracts highly relevant safety management information according to the situation of workers and work sites on the GEMBA Note. This improves conventional safety management operations that tend to rely on the experience and intuition of individuals, and enables the visualization of risks and the advancement of safety management in an organized manner.
MetaMoJi and Obayashi will continue to develop business solutions that advance DX through the use of AI.
* IMTOC expression is a method of categorizing and expressing occupational accident cases based on five elements: industry (I), material (M), type of accident (T), work and other conditions (O), and direct cause (C).
Overview of Safety AI Solution
MetaMoJi’s Safety AI Solution consists of three phases: “Creation of utilization data,” “Construction of risk prediction database,” and “Hazard prediction and implementation of safety measures.
1. creation of usage data
The data of occupational accident information scattered inside and outside of the organization is compiled into a database using IMTOC expressions.
2. Risk prediction database construction
The “natural language processing AI” automatically constructs a risk prediction database from occupational accident data, and automatically determines risks based on various data science-based analyses.
3. Risk prediction and implementation of safety measures
On-site registration of occupational accident information on MetaMoJi’s business applications “eYACHO” and “GEMBA Note,” and generation of “Dynamic Checklist®” and other forms based on job type, machinery used, predicted accidents, etc., enable efficient and thorough safety measures. The system can be used to efficiently implement thorough safety measures.
